HLL joined forces through a JV with specialist house builders Chartford Land, to bid for the purchase a 1 Hectare former School Sports Ground and secure planning for a 36 dwelling housing scheme.
HLL agreed the conditional purchase of the land and buildings and led a team of consultants through the public consultation process and the successful negotiation of Planning and Section 106 Agreements.
The Site previously formed part of the larger Leeds Girls’ High School complex and comprised former school facilities. The northern section of the Site comprised a large swimming pool and sports hall which have been vacant for a number of years and due to disuse, had consequently fallen into disrepair internally and externally to an extent that they were longer safe or usable.
The Site is bounded to the east by the rear gardens of a number of terraced properties on Ash Grove, to the south by Headingley Rise apartments, to the west by Back Chestnut Avenue and the rear gardens of the terraced properties on Chestnut Avenue and Chestnut Grove and to the north by Victoria Road.
