The Site previously formed part of the larger Leeds Girls’ High School complex and comprises former school facilities. The northern section of the Site comprises a large swimming pool and sports hall which have been vacant for a number of years and due to disuse, have consequently fallen into disrepair internally and externally to an extent that they are no longer usable.
The Site is bounded to the east by the rear gardens of a number of terraced properties on Ash Grove, to the south by Headingley Rise apartments, to the west by Back Chestnut Avenue and the rear gardens of the terraced properties on Chestnut Avenue and Chestnut Grove and to the north by Victoria Road.
The Site is located in a predominantly residential area with densely populated areas directly to the east, south and west. To the north of the site is Headingley Business Park and to the north east, the main buildings of the Leeds Girls High School.
